Life is a ride!!

In July 2022, I got the idea to buy a bike, Till then I was looking at people differently who ride bikes on the highways. Basically, I'm lazy and prefer to be more comfortable while travelling and look for more safety.

I expressed my interest to my wife and friends. No one encourages me with my desire. They know about me very well and the comfort I look for. They explicitly say why you waste your hard-earned money. In fact, one of my friends took more photos when I trial the gears which I bought myself. He said I'm not sure whether you wear these again. So at least we take photos and keep them with us. That much confidence for him in me.

I've another bike pulsar 150cc which my father bought for me in 2005. I still keep the bike with me. But I'm not using it actively. In the last 10 years, it's very less. All I do is service the bike once in a year and keep it in the garage.

I booked a bike in a week time after doing very little analysis. I looked at Benelli and BMW and decided to go with GS 310. Since it's a pure experiment. I feel it's ok to go with the entry-level segment this time. I prefer adventure bikes and 310 is good for tall people like me.

They delivered my bike in Dec after 3 - 4 months time. I went on my first ride to my hometown to complete the registration. 125 KMs non-stop to go on time. While returning also I've not stopped anywhere in the middle. I feel a little uncomfortable taking a break. I usually don't take more breaks when driving cars.

I went on a proper ride along with a couple of my friends on 26th Jan (Republic day ride) to the nearby hill station. It was a fantastic experience.

I'll be happy and satisfied and would escape from my wife and friend If I would be able to complete 12 rides this year 2023. One per month. That's the target. Let's see how it goes!!

Happy riding!! :)

Secret to a Long and Happy Life!!

Ikigai - (Passion) A unique talent that gives meaning to your days and drives you to share the best of yourself with the very end.

This is my first attempt at reviewing books. In fact, I read a book today after a long time (years). We all must agree that our reading habits are reduced drastically in recent years, particularly reading through physical books.

Two of them got the idea of writing about the longevity of the people a part of japan. Mainly how to find an Ikigai the purpose of life and so many other factors that all lead to living a long and happy life.

They talk about stress control, diet, how to keep ourselves active and the importance of it. Also, the flow of how much we engage and more productive when we do the work which we really like to do etc.,

They shared some of the life lessons of people who lives more than 100 years.

All the examples quoted in all different topics are top-notch.

They conclude with the following points that are important for a long and happy life.

  • Stay active; Don't retire
  • Take it slow
  • Don't fill your stomach
  • Surround yourself with good friends
  • Get in shape for your next birthday
  • Smile
  • Reconnect with nature
  • Give thanks
  • Live in the moment
  • Follow your Ikigai

After reading a book I started finding my Ikigai. But I somehow feel that making an impact on people would be mine.

Paleo, Way to go...

I’m writing this to bring some awareness and clarity about Paleo Diet - What is it? Why do we want to follow this/ What benefits do we get out of it? What is the menu? How difficult it’s to follow etc.,

Ok, Let’s starts with what is - In layman terms, It’s all about no carbohydrate, only protein. If you take carbs, all your energy is created by burning the same carb, not from the fat. If no-carb or reduce carb level, slowly the energies start created by burning the fat - It brings down unwanted fat from your body.

People following this diet for different reasons - Weight loss, Rejuvenate. The outcomes are great. Personally, I feel very light and thin even with 185 cms height and 88 kgs weight (Yes, I got reduced 5 kgs 93 -> 88 in a month time), more active (Initial one week time you feel sleepy, looks dull, it change after that), You start saving more energy in your body.

Breakfast - Butter coffee/tea - 250 ml or 100 kms badam or eggs in any form boiled/omelet/half-boiled/ full boiled.

Lunch - Full of vegetables - Cabbage, Cauliflower, Mushroom,  Broccoli, Carrot, Beetroot or Eggs or Meat - Mutton, Chicken, Fish, Duck, Beef, Pork, Prawn or Panneer - Compulsory Spinach on no meat days.

Dinner - Eggs or Meat.

Cheese, Fruits (guava), Nuts.

The important thing - Strictly, we shouldn’t take anything in between meals - It’s good to follow the regular timing 8 AM, 2 PM, and 8 PM. Also, you can feel free to skip meals if you are not hungry.

Take 4 litres of water every day plain or with a mix of lemon/ cider vinegar.

Yes, It’s difficult to follow, but as like every other thing, it’s a bit difficult at the beginning, and it comes to regular after a week or 2 weeks, But don’t cheat even a single time. Then it becomes a bit more regular, and it brings out from this diet.

Let’s follow this wonderful old age food habit and get all benefits out of it.

Life is a journey, not a destination

Yes. It's a journey. Our destination keeps changing.

It's all about how you enjoy the travel, how you make others happy, what you learn and create.

Unique

Don't compare yourself with anyone. Somebody travels by flight, somebody by train, bus, car, cycle, or by walk. It's by choice, and it's always unnecessary to travel in the same mode.

Mode of travel asides, How you are enjoying your travel matters.

If you are travelling without any interest, then you should worry, not thinking by the mode.

By choice or no choice

Getting things in two ways. By choice or by no choice. Starts from a life partner, job everywhere it applies.

Many buses come to the bus stand even to the same route, but different timings with different facilities. Sometimes we get an option to choose one and sometimes not.

Destination

During the journey, it's not necessary to end up at our desired destination. By the way, no desired one. What's the need? It should be happening as desired. Of course, you are not born to reach any specific destination. It's all mindset, sometimes we think it's our destination, and later we do not. It keeps changing. So don't focus on the destination.

Live each moment

Whether you are rich or poor, men or women, child or adult, black or white, live each moment. Accept yourself. Feel proud of yourself. Don't think too much about the past (Definitely learn from it). Think about the future, but again not too much. Let live the moment.

Accept changes

Your mode, destination, people keep getting changed. Practice accepting it.

Create memories

Travel more. Get a chance to see, learn more people. Take all the good things. Create more memories.

Create a purpose

It's not about where we are travelling by how with whom it's all aside. But during this journey, what you learn and create matters. Make some purpose.

Not regret everything

I wouldn't say you regret something in your last days, but make sure you shouldn't regret everything.

Enjoy the journey

Super power

In one of my recent training arranged by our organization to improve our soft skills, I was asked to answer the following question.

What superpower would you like to have as a leader?

Superpower? Actually, It’s not one, It’s many. As a leader, we need many qualities to become a great leader.

  • Identify the right problems - work for them. Always keep the top 3 problems in your mind. You get solutions.
  • Understand your environment - what people seek from you, both from top and bottom, know that often.
  • Don’t complain about anything - fix it.
  • Don’t get easily influenced by people - make them influence by you.
  • Be unique - don’t go/think with exists. Try with your own, No right or wrong.
  • Gain respect - make use of it. Lead by example, practical, transparent.
  • Take the right decisions at the right time - you won’t regret them in the future.
  • Be an executor - don’t stop with ideas.
  • Work for goals (set reasonable) - achieve them no matter how hard.
  • Learn, Learn, Learn - Don’t be lazy.
  • Down to earth - be simple, practical, and straightforward.
  • Being thick skin - deal with failures, rejections, insults, and criticism of all your decisions.
  • Don’t be afraid to do experiments - many times, it takes you to new heights.
  • Don’t get inspired by the wrong people - Inspirations are always costly.
